Aspen Public Parking Information
Most people who are taking a vacation to Aspen will be staying within walking distance of the ski slopes. Those who are staying in Snowmass or somewhere that is beyond walking distance will be able to access Aspen Mountain using the local bus system.
For those of you who are traveling by car from out of town; you will find some information below about when and where you can park in Aspen, Colorado.
Free Parking in Aspen
Free parking is limited to 2 hours in residential areas. You can obtain a carpool permit from the airport kiosk that will allow parties of 3+ adults to park for free all day long.
Paid Parking in Aspen
Paid parking is available in the Rio Grande Plaza. This plaza is located on the northern side of Aspen Village (Opposite side of the village from the ski mountain). A shuttle will bring skiers and snowboarders from this parking lot to the Silver Queen Gondola.
Metered parking is available within Aspen City limits. There is a 4 hour maximum on these parking spots, so using these parking spots is not suggested if you are planning to ski for the entire day. You can see the pay schedule for metered parking below.
