So here’s a scenario: You’re from the East Coast and enjoying your vacation, but you’re also jonesing for your local deli. What do you do? How about checking out Belmont Deli. It’ll fill your cravings and then some! Not from the Northeast but craving a big deli sandwich, a New York bagel, or homemade matzo ball soup? Belmont’s your spot, too!
An homage to the owner’s father, this place combines two of his passions: New York delis and horse racing. (Pictures of both cover the walls.) You can find your Reubens and other classic sandwiches here as well as some veggie options. There’s also a market area where you can pick up some East Coast jams, salsas, or relishes to go.
Want to give the Belmont a try, but don’t want to miss out on your slope time? Why not make it your lunch stop on your airport to lodge commute? Or try picking up a morning sandwich on your way to the lifts. Many feature the same deli meats, and all are served on a bagel or kaiser roll.
What They’re Known for: All of the sandwiches get great reviews, but if you’re looking for something with a little kick, try the Vito, a spicy Italian hoagie with capocollo, pepperoni, bologna, provolone, spicy mayo, and pepperoncini.
What to Watch for: Keeping with the New York feel, there isn’t much room for seating. Consider getting it to go.
