The Gold Pan has been around since 1861 and started as a tent that pushed Taos White Lightning which was a highly potent type of moonshine. In 1879, it became a real building and has been there for those looking for gold for over one hundred years. There’s still a pot belly stove to sit around and tell stories by. The saloon has held on to its old timey charm for decades and is a great place to enjoy some libations and food. The Gold Pan has a rustic atmosphere that takes you back to the time of the mining days when gold fever was alive.
There are delicious apps, great sandwiches, and fantastic burgers, and that’s just the beginning of their incredible menu. The Gold Pan is owned by the Reginald Gray family and their friends for two decade. As the oldest operating bar in the area their goal has always been a place for miners to go to grab a drink, grab a bite, and dance around if they want.
What They’re Known for: The Gold Pan is known for being the oldest bar in Breckenridge, but it’s also known for an awesome happy hour. From 4p-7p you can enjoy more than just well drinks and domestic bottles. We recommend the Gold Pan Bloody or Mimosa.
What to Watch for: People who visit the Gold Pan frequently are a younger crowd. If you aren’t into a bar atmosphere, then this might not be the place for you.
