Located in The Lodge at Breckenridge, the Traverse Restaurant is the signature dining restaurant of the resort. The Traverse Restaurant and Bar offers expertly prepared meals utilizing local, fresh, and sustainable ingredients. The culinary team, operating under Chef Brent Turnipseede, provides imaginative and inspired dishes, scrumptious desserts, and an extensive wine and beer list. Meals are expertly prepared and offer a variety of daily fresh selections. Some interesting main entrees at the Traverse offer traditional regional meats such as bison and elk. The Traverse “Tatonka” is a bison burger, and you can find Elk Strip Steak and Bison Short Ribs on the menu as well. Those with dietary sensitivities will appreciate the gluten- and dairy-free options, while the kids’ menu offers typical favorites in a creative way with a healthy twist.
What They’re Known for: Tapas. The tapas at the Traverse are listed as casual, straightforward, and involved. Fun dishes like Wild Boar “Pops,” Elk Tartare, and Pig and Pineapple. It’s a very creative and delicious tapas menu that is a notable favorite. With the smaller tapas prices, you can choose a few tapas and try some specialty items.
What to Watch for: We’ve heard about a few complaints, but these seem to be rare, isolated events. Otherwise, just know when you get there and you’re looking for signage, that this restaurant is located within The Lodge.
