Gustino’s Lakeside Pizzeria is like your favorite neighborhood pizza joint–they don’t offer a whole lot of different menu options, but what they do, they do really well. Pizza takes center stage–you can enjoy a slice or a whole pie ranging from 10 inches to 20 inches–with six different cheese options, seven meat options and a dozen veggie toppings to choose from. But don’t neglect the Lakeside Loaded Cheese Fries (sharp Cheddar queso, buttermilk ranch and scallions) or the crisp-skin, thick-cut traditional fries served with your choice of two house-made dipping sauces that feature various types of aioli, spicy Buffalo sauce and chipotle ketchup. One unusual offering is the spaghetti fritters, which consist of spaghetti, pepperoni and Parmesan cream rolled together in a light batter and friend. If you’re looking for something lighter, try one of their artisan salads.

What They’re Known for: Authentic New York style pizza, including the New York Mediterranean white pizza. Starting with made-from-scratch dough, Guistino’s pizzas blend the best of Italy (with imported cheeses and tomatoes) and the best of the Centennial State (with all natural, Colorado-raised meats) for a piping hot, satisfying lunch, dinner or in-between pick-me-up.

What to Watch for: Very small sitting area. Although dining in is an option, larger groups might have some difficulty getting seats together. During busiest times, the wait for a pizza can be a little long, but the pies come out piping hot. Salads are good, and prices are on the high side, typical of ski resort areas. If you do snag a seat–there are inside and outside options– watch for the ice skaters and bumper boats.
