Closest Ski Resorts to Denver
As you leave the City of Denver and head into the foothills of the Rocky Mountains on I-70, one of the first ski area signs that you will see is for the Winter Park Ski Resort. This route will take you over Berthoud Pass and to Winter Park. You will take exit 232 towards Empire on Route 40. If you get to Georgetown, you’re headed into Summit County.
Next you will see the Loveland Ski Area which is right next to I-70 and highly visible from the interstate. You will see this ski resort just before you head through the Eisenhower Tunnel and through the continental divide. Next you will enter Summit County where you will find some of the most popular ski resorts in Colorado: Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, and Keystone.
Farther up I-70 another 25 miles is Vail, and then Beaver Creek a few miles after.
Denver Airport Shuttle Routes
A great majority of skiers coming to Colorado fly into Denver. There are tons of shuttles heading to pretty much every resort, within reason, of course. There aren’t many shuttles from DIA to Durango, Silverton, or Telluride because if you are skiing there, you typically fly into the airports on that side of the state. At any rate, if you are flying into DIA, here are some of the routes that you might be taking and the various Denver airport shuttle providers that can take you there and back.
