$1000 COLORADO SKI AUTHORITY SCHOLARSHIP
Announcement for 2015-16 CSA Scholarship. We will not be issuing a call for applications this season. This is simply a time decision for us this season, as we are expanding into other ski states. Fear not, we plan to be back next year and continue to keep this scholarship alive. It was just too much to handle this year. Please accept our apologies and submit again next season. Cheers.

Simply put, our business exists to serve the interests of Colorado for anyone wanting to enjoy skiing or boarding in our Great State. Because of this, we want to make sure that we are helping to take care of our own by putting a few dollar bills in her or his pocket and help make the tall task of paying for school a little shorter. So we have created a $1000 scholarship that is available to any registered Colorado university, college, or junior college student. Our goal is to recognize an outstanding Colorado student who we believe exemplifies the Colorado Ski Authority spirit, combining creativity, intelligence, drive, and responsibility.
Eligibility/Requirements
- Applicant must be enrolled in a Colorado university, college, community college, or junior college. Not sure if your school qualifies? Send us an email and we’ll let you know.
- Applicant must be in good academic standing with the university/college and must be actively enrolled in the 2014/2015 school year.
- Applicant must complete the Colorado Ski Authority Annual Scholarship Application Form below and email it to us by 11:59pm (MST) December 15, 2014.
- Applicant must submit recent transcripts.
- Applicant must submit a creative piece (details below) by 11:59pm (MST) December 15, 2014.
What We’re Looking For
Need and creativity. We want to give back to the community, but we just don’t want to do it in any regular or typical form. That’s just not our way. We don’t mind if you don’t make the best grades or spend your free time with organizations that aren’t instantly recognizable as the best of the best. We are good judges of character, creativity, and drive. That’s who we are, and those are the students we would like to help out.
So don’t worry about where your scholastic and community resume is weak. Instead, focus on what you consider to be your unrecognized talent. Strut your good stuff.
Judging Criteria
Once an applicant has proven to meet the above requirements, we will make the decision based on need, creativity, and a host of X factors. But we will also include the wisdom of crowds in our judging algorithm. We will post the creative portion of our top prospects to our social media channels and let our friends and fans tell us who champions creativity. This social media vote will count towards the final formula we will use to select our recipient. Note that this is only one factor of several we are considering.
Even More Details. Yay.
We will post the creative pieces of the finalists to our social media channels sometime around Christmas. Once they are posted, we will list how long the voting will last.
Our aim is to select a recipient before the beginning of the Spring 2014 Semester.

Creative Portion:
We like to think of ourselves as a creative company in a creative and fun field, and we’d like to reward those who embrace the creative and know how to have a good time without slacking in school. So we created the creative portion that is no rules. Poem, video, photo, slideshow, 3-D sidewalk chalk drawing, powerpoint, invention, etc. You are the creative one, so you decide the form, the subject, and the length. While a painting or quilt might be awesome, realize that whatever form your creativity takes, it needs to translate well online. Last year, our three finalists submitted a rap video, visual arts, and oil paintings. Be you and go big.
Now, email us with your great stuff. We are excited to learn about your academic pursuits.

2013 Recipient Saige Mateo
Saige Mateo of Colorado Moutain College in Glenwood Springs received our first ever scholarship. Saige is a terrific young artist whose artwork immediately grabbed our attention as someone who we wanted to ensure was able to continue her studies and also recognize her enormous talent(s). She is currently finishing up her final fwe credits at CMC-Glenwood Springs, and she will no doubt go on to do incredible things.
