Colorado Luxury Ski Vacation Packages
Colorado is home to two of the most famous luxury ski towns in the world; Aspen and Vail. Both of these ski towns have vehicle-free streets that are lined with fine dining restaurants, luxury gift shops, and some of the best lodging options that you will find in Colorado.
Vail is located right next to I-70 in Eagle County; within a 50 minute drive of Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin and the Beaver Creek ski resort. The Vail base area is separated into 2 villages; Lionshead and Vail Village.
Most of the lodges and condos in these villages are located within a 5 minute walk of the ski slopes. Once you are on the ski slopes, you will have access to ski terrain that spans a distance of more than 7 miles. This vast terrain makes Vail the largest ski resort in the United States.
Skiers and riders can fly right into the Eagle County Airport; just a 40 minute drive away from the Vail Ski Resort. If you fly into the Eagle County Airport during the daytime, you can ski for free at Vail on the same day. Just take your Vail/Beaver Creek lodging confirmation and your boarding pass to a lift ticket window and you can ski for free for the rest of the day.
Telluride has accommodations, dining, and entertainment that will fit just about any vacation budget. If you are looking for a luxury ski vacation, this is definitely a ski resort that has what you are looking for. Telluride has 2 mountain base areas. The Telluride Mountain Village is where you will find most of the luxury ski lodges.
The middle of the Telluride Mountain Village is where you will find most of the beginner skiing terrain on the mountain. Around this terrain you will find hotels, condos, and private rental homes that sprawl up the mountainside. Many of these lodging options have ski in/ski out access to the slopes at Telluride. There is even a private gondola called a funicular ski lift that brings guests at The Club at Tristant to and from the slopes. You can see this lift in the photo to the left.
Another popular mountain feature at Telluride is the free gondola system that is open to the public throughout the day and part of the evening. There are 2 gondola lines that bring skiers and riders between the free parking garage, the Telluride Mountain Village, and the Town of Telluride. Vacationers can take this Gondola up to Alfred’s Restaurant in the evenings, which is located near the top of part of the mountain.
Aspen is one of the most luxurious ski towns that you will find anywhere in the world. This town is well known for celebrity sightings on the mountain slopes. Aspen is like many other Colorado ski towns because it was founded as a mining town. Despite this town’s place in Colorado history, it has developed a reputation for luxury, glamour, and being a popular vacation spot for the rich and famous.
The Aspen/Snowmass area has 4 ski resorts that give skiers and riders access to terrain ranging from beginner to extreme difficulty. You can fly directly into the Aspen airport which is located between Aspen and Snowmass.
