Gondola

Snowmass Village Gondola Information

There are two gondolas at the Snowmass Ski Resort. The Elk Camp Gondola rises from Snowmass Village and gives skiers access to approximately 1,300 feet of vertical skiing. The second gondola; the Sky Cab, is a free gondola that transports skiers, riders, and pedestrians between the lower part of Snowmass Village, and the upper village mall.

Free Village Gondola

The Sky Cab Gondola can be seen in the photo at the top of this page. This is a free gondola that runs between the two main areas of Snowmass Village. The Sky Cab gondola is designed to save vacationers a quick but painful hike up the hill. This 6-passenger gondola takes only a few minutes, and can also be used by beginners to access some of the beginner ski terrain that is located just above the base area of the mountain.

Elk Camp Gondola

This gondola was added to the resort for the 2006-2007 ski season. This is an 8-passenger gondola with a ride-time of approximately 8 1/2 minutes. There is a mid-station loading and unloading point. This mid-station is often used by beginners who want to gain access to Assay Hill. The gondola can also be used to bring skiers and riders to The Meadows beginner learning area. You can see this gondola pictured in the photo below.
