Vacationing With Children in Vail
Vail is one of the best ski resorts in Colorado for children. There are several areas of the mountain that are designed for children; this includes the Golden Peak base area in addition to several other zones throughout the ski resort. You’ll find photos and information on this page that will help you figure out where to take your children while on vacation in Vail.
Children’s Skiing Zones
You can see the entrance to Chaos Canyon in the photo to the right. This kids zone is located just below the Mid-Vail lodge and a short distance down the Lion’s Way traverse.
The large photo below shows one of the surface carpets that is located in the Golden Peak area. You can see more photos of this part of the mountain here – Vail Beginner Ski Trails.
You will also find the Small World Nursery at the base of Golden Peak. This is a fully certified child care center that is run by the ski school. Children as young as 2 months are allowed here and there are separate playrooms for children of different ages.
Adventure ridge is located at the top of the Vail Gondola. There are a wide variety of activities available here for children. This includes tubing, ice skating, and ski biking. There is also a race track that is designed for mini-snowmobiles and this is a memorable way to entertain your children in Vail. These snowmobiles are manufactured for children between the ages of 6-12.
