The Little Dinner is the go-to local-owned breakfast hub in Vail. Using locally sourced ingredients and special dishes from the region, this breakfast/lunch spot is an excellent option for eager skiers to fuel up at before hitting the slopes. You’ll have an opportunity to watch your food be made in front of you, creating a fun atmosphere and lively vibe, while also delivering speedy service. It really is a “Little” Diner, but that small square footage makes for a lot of great breakfast experience. That said, have a contingency plan, or else give yourself plenty of time if you want to visit this Vail breakfast staple: Regardless of service times, seating is limited, and this place is popular.

What They’re Known for: Don’t miss the Little Diner’s famous house specialty, the German Pancake, a sweet crepe dish that will surely boost your energy in the morning. If you want to go with something a little less sweet, try the Eggs Benedict, which, legend has it, was the dish the owner’s father “wooed” his mother with.

What to Watch for: Rules can be a little strict and substitutions or special requests are not always taken well. The staff tries to accommodate as many customers as it can. Most everybody else is trying to get to the slopes, too. So be aware that if you enjoy splitting a meal or making special requests, you may have to be willing to compromise. It’s just part of the experience for this quality of food and these service times at this price.
