About Winter Park Resort
Winter Park is easily the most family ski resort of the big boys in the state. It’s really hard to articulate why, but you will feel it once you are here. Winter Park has the classic split of on-mountain lodging and as well as logging down in the town of Fraser just a mile away. Towering condo blocks dominate the base area landscape, where there are plenty of patios to warm your heels and drink a cold beer. But don’t be fooled by “family”, the Mary Jane side will give you everything you want in a ski experience, right down to the locals who don’t want you there. That’s when you know you’re on the right terrain.
Winter Park Mountain is also split into two sides, with Mary Jane on skier’s right–the bumpier, more expert terrain–and Winter Park on skier’s left, which is chock full of blues and greens and terrain parks. Just like any family, not everyone does or likes the same thing, and in one mountain, Winter Park has all family members covered. Come here because the family will have a great time, with a low-key, athletic and friendly atmosphere, and stay because everyone can be challeneged to their limits, no matter how good they are.
